Last night, I had a serendipitous meeting with a young man named Carlos after preaching at our church (see picture). Carlos has been in the U.S. army for thirteen years, and has been deployed to Afghanistan once and Iraq twice. He is stationed in Kentucky, but is presently on an army assignment in Battle Creek, Michigan for a month. He drove all the way from Battle Creek to worship with us, and hopes to do so in coming weeks as well. After chatting with him for a while, he said that although Spanish was his first language, he is also fluent in English, and that he and his study group in Kentucky had just gone through my “Knowing and Growing in Full Assurance” with much profit.
He then pulled out of his back pack a copy of our Reformation Heritage Family Worship Study Bible in Spanish and a heavily underlined copy of Reformed Systematic Theology (by Paul Smalley and me) in Spanish—which I didn’t even know was in print yet!
Pray that God will bless these Spanish titles abundantly.
